The Downside of a Christian Life

Image
Last week, i shared with you some ups about leading a Christian life, in these last days! And today, i want to address the other side of the argument, we often don't talk about-the cons of being a Christian.  When we get saved (our spiritual eyes being open) it can lead to a self-righteous attitude in some of us! I know this fact, because i fell into that box in the early days. When i newly found CHRIST: i  judged everyone around me by Bible standards. I was impatient with any associate who wasn't moving fast along in their Salvation journey (my older brother being my biggest victim), i looked at everyone i came across with a spiritual lens of perfection-judging and condemning. At a point, it felt like in all of Australia, i was the only righteous person-bound for Heaven; everyone else is doomed... Six years and many phases of Salvation journey later, i realized how wrong i was! And thankfully; I've made positive strides in my relation to the world around me. Hence this pos...

The Upside of a Christian Life

Image
The Christian life is one of exploration of Faith, Community, and some Challenges. Nevertheless, it is exciting!  It is a journey of devotion and transformation, guided by the Holy Spirit (leading and directing your thoughts and actions) to enable us to practice the teachings of JESUS CHRIST. For over two millennia, countless individuals have embraced this path; finding meaning, hope, and direction. Yet, just as every journey has its moments of joy and struggle, living a Christian life comes with both advantages and challenges. There are mountain moments (where your prayers are answered, direction clearly understood, and desired outcomes achieved) and there's the valley moments (where prayers are delayed or denied, where you're overwhelmed with challenges, and confused as to what path to take). But in spite of these inevitable phases, this journey is worth it.   With that said, there are some aspects of the Christian life that needs to be addressed with honesty and...

Why Does GOD Allow Suffering?

Image
This is often the most asked question by non-believers and sometimes, believers going through challenges: why does GOD allow suffering? Why can't HE intervene in the current state of this world?  Why does GOD allow the wicked to persist in evil? People ask these questions with a hope of getting an answer that would convict GOD of negligence; for allowing His Creation experience pain and tragedy. Many cannot comprehend that a loving and powerful Creator, would let specters like war, famine, diseases and suffering to persist on Earth. It seems unfathomable that not only has GOD let these distresses happen; He does nothing to fix it. And if you have a moment to listen; they will relay how these have affected them personally; a nd as a result, they have lost faith in GOD. And that's usually where the argument ends. But this is not the whole story! From a Biblical account: GOD created a perfect world! And the Bible declared this in Genesis 1:31 "GOD saw everything that H...

How Our Food Influences Our Mood

Image
There's growing evidence of a strong connection between our diet and mental health! Several scientific studies have revealed that what we put on our plates can have a profound impact on our minds. This is concerning; given that we now live in an ever busy and fast paced world. Where daily stress is common, quick take-out meals are mundane, while fresh foods and exercise and pushed to the back of the list. Developing Growth Mindset: Unlock Your Potential

Image
How the Right Attitude Can Change Everything!  Have you noticed how some people dive into challenges while others steer clear? Often, the difference comes down to mindset. A growth mindset, as described by psychologist Carol Dweck, is simply believing your skills and intelligence can improve with effort and persistence. Instead of seeing setbacks as failures, you start to see them as chances to learn. What Does “Growth Mindset” Mean? It’s all about thinking that talent isn’t fixed. Rather than saying “I’m not good at this,” someone with a growth mindset thinks, “I’m not good at this—yet.” That small change encourages you to keep going when things get tough, to be resilient, and to keep learning, no matter where you started. Why Is Having a Growth Mindset Useful? Studies show that people who adopt a growth mindset tend to reach higher, bounce back from setbacks, and feel more satisfied. If you focus on the effort and the learning, not just the outcome, you’re more ope...
